Soo Chuen Tan

Soo Chuen Tan is President of Discerene Group LP, a Connecticut-based investment partnership that invests globally on behalf of several long-term investors, pursuing a fundamental, contrarian value investing philosophy. Before founding the firm in 2010, Soo Chuen was a Partner and Managing Director at Deccan Value Advisors, and prior to that worked at the Baupost Group, Halcyon Asset Management, and McKinsey & Company. Soo Chuen has a Master of Business Administration (high distinction) degree from Harvard Business School, where he was a George F. Baker Scholar, and a Bachelor/Master of Arts (double first class honors) degree in Law/Jurisprudence from Oxford University, where he won the Martin Wronker Prize for graduating first in his class.
