Salim Syed

Salim Syed is a Managing Director and Head of Biotechnology Research at Mizuho. In 2017 and his first year as a publishing senior analyst, he was ranked #1 Institutional Investor Rising Star for Large-Cap Biotech. Mr. Syed has been quoted by the press including Barron’s, Business Insider, The Boston Globe, Bloomberg, CNBC, Financial Times, Investor’s Business Daily, and Thomson Reuters.

Prior to joining Mizuho in 2016, Mr. Syed spent about six years at Evercore ISI working on an Institutional Investor ranked Biotech and Pharmaceuticals equity research team. Mr. Syed began his career on Wall Street in 2004 at Morgan Stanley in New York as an investment banker.

He holds a BBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Salim grew up in southern California and now lives and works in Manhattan.
